Having a USAW certification means that the coach has met the standards set by the organization and is recognized as a qualified coach in the sport of weightlifting in the United States

what to expect

An Olympic lifting class is a type of strength and conditioning class that focuses on the use of Olympic weightlifting exercises, such as the snatch and the clean and jerk. These exercises are highly technical and require proper form and technique to perform safely and effectively.

During a typical class, participants will start with a warm-up and mobility exercises to prepare the body for the movements to come. The class will then progress to skill work and drills, where participants will learn and practice the proper technique for the snatch and the clean and jerk. This will include exercises such as the power snatch, the hang snatch, the power clean, and the hang clean.

As participants become more comfortable with the movements and develop their technique, they will progress to lifting heavier weights and incorporating more complex variations of the exercises. The class will also include accessory exercises to target specific muscle groups and improve overall strength and stability.

The class will end with a cool-down and stretching to help the participants to recover and feel good.

Throughout the class, the coach will provide guidance and instruction, as well as make adjustments to the participant's form as needed. The class is suitable for all levels of fitness.
